Aquiestoy is the creative music project of guitarist, producer, and singer-songwriter Carlos Snaider. Carlos was raised with a love of music by a Nuyorican mother and Ecuadorian father across cities in the US, briefly in Quito, Ecuador, and is now based in Seattle. The name Aquiestoy fuses the Spanish words for “here” and “I am”, which he translates as “ibehere.” That sense of presence without fixed ground runs through music that includes live band arrangements, hardware synth production, and songwriting in English, Spanish, and Spanglish. His sound worlds are built to be inhabited and felt, available to any listener regardless of whether the words are lost in translation.
With Aquiestoy as his current root, Carlos also plays in the bands EarthtoneSkytone, Eléré and Star Gondola in Seattle.

Aquíestoy (I be here) es el nombre de su laboratorio creativo personal y próximo proyecto artístico. De ascendencia puertorriqueña y ecuatoriana, las composiciones y actuaciones de Carlos buscan crear nuevos sonidos que armonicen ambientes internos y externos. Estudió Música y Estudios Afroamericanos por la Universidad de Harvard, donde estudió con Vijay Iyer, Lorgia García Peña y Yosvany Terry. También estudió con Art Lande, Dale Bruning, Eric Gunnison y Eric Wiggs en la escena musical de Denver.
Carlos no rehúye de una amplia gama de influencias, que van desde la música del Caribe latino hasta la música creativa afroamericana, el hip hop, el synth pop y las tradiciones orales. Además de las influencias sonoras, también se nutre profundamente de la poética caribeña, las artes marciales internas chinas, la práctica contemplativa y el teatro experimental.
Carlos actúa con su nuevo proyecto Aquíestoy, y también compone e interpreta con EarthtoneSkytone, Eléré y Star Gondola, creando sonidos en el nexo de la música creativa, el ambient, la salsa, la electrónica y el hip-hop.
